Jesse David Lang (b.1983) is an oil painter based in White Bear Lake, MN. His uniquely clever paintings reverberate between landscape, figurative art, and imaginative realism. He holds a BFA in 2D Art & Design, frequently exhibits locally, and has work in private collections across the U.S.
From an early age, Jesse was drawn to creative expression, exploring drawing, painting, wood carving, and music. This unwavering need to create continued to evolve throughout his life. In his 20s he studied Fine Art at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, while at the same time developed a strong passion for writing music and performing with bands. His songwriting blended narrative and experimentation, always striving to take the audience on a journey. This storytelling sensibility eventually made its way into Jesse’s paintings, as his work evolved from from landscapes to narrative compositions—both familiar and imagined. His experience as a guitarist became a powerful source of inspiration, culminating in The Struggling Musician, a series of paintings that garnered significant attention and recognition for its narrative strength and wit.
